First off: many congratulations! I think seventh out of almost 300 counts as literally a world class performance. If this was the result of applying your innate skills (well, innate modulo hundreds of Magpie crosswords) without particular practice at these sorts of puzzles, then it may not be long at all before you grow to master these forms further still. If you think this event is likely to be of as much interest to Magpie readers as it was to you, it would be lovely to see plenty more teams of Magpie readers in future years.
Don't worry about not catching up; our team came from all around the country (well, one from London, four from further afield) and thus we had made something of a holiday of it. I'm sure there will be further occasions in the future.
Lastly, I didn't know you blogged and am very excited by an awful lot of the posts you have made. Expect to see comments aplenty springing up over coming days...
